“We did not get to the Blue Eye because it poured when we arrived. The gate keeper refused to let us ride in. What a pity! We went to the ruin, it was well preserved and our driver/guide was very knowledgeable. The grounds were muddy and slippery. Other than having our feet soaked, we enjoyed the tour.”

After an opportunity to enjoy the fort, we continued to Butrint. In the exploration of these two locations, Albania's rich history was presented by my driver/guide. When I wasn't learning about the sites, I was given the chance to ask about more current history and was offered insight into the experience of Albanians today.
